It was a friday evening , about 5.40 pm .
After wraping up days work .I rushed for the bus stand to catch my 6'o clock bus for bhopal (next day was Holi ). I took Auto .Since auto's meter was'nt working the auto guy told me that he will charge 20 rs .. although it generaly costs 15 till RNA (bus stand ) . I agreed as I was already getting late .
I akesd him to stop by any Pan shop on the way , as i have to get a bisleri . We started , few ghumaties passed , but i wanted him to stop at some posh shop , suddenly i saw a foodcourt on the left of road and asked him to stop . we have still not picked the speed ,so i thougt he could stop. The Automan moved left on the road to stop and suddenly a bike came from behind and hit the matgaurd of auto .
The two who were on bike are then tasting the ground . They rapidly stood up and started shouting at the auto driver ,I asked him to move ahead as it was'nt his mistake , they were overtaking from the wrong side .But that poor guy does'nt dare to move .
The man driving the bike collared him with all the abusive words in the world asking him pay for his damages and the auto driver was craving for being forgiven "Gareeb aadmi he saab, maaf kar do ".
I tried to persude the other party to let us go , but he stopped me saying Madam you please don't interfere .
I thought for a second , again asked the auto driver to get out of this and move , but he said "Madam ese nahi ja sakte " I felt bad for him , since it was'nt his mistake and still he is being tortured .
The other party along with other road side care takers continue to shover him with their anger .
I decide to get out of auto and move as it was already 5.50 , a man from the crowd evolved and asked
whether I need another auto , I said ok and followed him. Then I realiesd , I should pay the poor auto guy something aleast the half of the mutualy fixed amount .
I turned back .. called him for the last time "Bhaiya aap chal rahe ho , ya me janyoo " but he was crowded and din't here me . It was no sense of me going in crowd .
so I headed towards the other Auto with some sort of guilt of not paying that poor fellow any thing and same time conving my self ... as what else I can do .
The other auto guy told me he will charge 20 Rs , I said why , we already travelled the half way .aur abb to 10 hi hote hein .
ohh to my disgrace .. what was his answer ...Madam aapne usko konsa pese diye ... :( I was filled with guilt again .
I reached my destination payed him the entire 20 and headed towards my bus ...
All my way till the bus conducter started Munna Bhai MBBS ... this question disturbed me ..
That why that poor guy had to suffer inspite of not being the gulity of the accident ... and the other bike guy tortured him although he was overtaking from the worng side , and still got the crowd's support.
.....why no body stood for Auto Guy ?
Is this because he was Poor and have the honesty to stand by instead of running away ?
I wanted to ask this to all the readers of this article that , What else I could have done ?
or If you were me at that point of time .What you have done ?
yeah ... to lessen the guilt. I have not taken any water bottle .. and completed my journey without water.
